Kevin Rooney helps emerging companies achieve smart growth. He works as outside corporate counsel with founders on company formation and ongoing corporate governance throughout each client’s life cycle. Kevin advises on transactions, including venture financings, mergers & acquisitions, strategic corporate relationships, and equity offerings for companies and financial and corporate investors. He also represents incubators, accelerators, and entrepreneurs working with startups and venture capital funds in their formation, securities offerings and investments. In addition, Kevin has represented a number of founders personally in M&A and secondary sale transactions. Kevin previously served as the corporate head of Cooley’s Palo Alto office, where he was corporate hiring partner from 2016 to 2020. Kevin has been recognized for his work by leading journals such as The Legal 500 and Super Lawyers, and he was listed in Northern California Super Lawyers’ Mergers & Acquisitions category from 2011 to 2018.
