Iden Asl is a partner in the Firm's Special Situations, Credit & Trading Practice Group, a multidisciplinary team that advises on financing across the capital stack, secondary loan and claims trading, NPL portfolio transactions, real estate special situations, litigation funding, and the purchase and sale of arbitration awards. Iden predominantly advises clients on direct debt investments and specialises in representing funds and banks on the purchase and sale of secured and unsecured bilateral and syndicated loans, securities, and insolvency and litigation claims throughout Europe, the United States and Asia. In this context, Iden regularly advises on loan and security documentation, including in relation to tax and regulatory matters, as well as providing counsel on refinancings, restructurings, and navigation of various insolvency regimes. Iden has significant experience of guiding clients through loan auction processes and drafting bespoke documentation for complex financing transactions. Iden has in depth knowledge of the Loan Market Association (LMA) and Loan Syndication and Trading Association (LSTA) trading documentation and is a member of the LMA secondary trading documentation committee that continually reviews and updates the market standard documentation for par and distressed debt transactions. In addition to his financing experience, Iden has also advised private equity clients and portfolio companies on the corporate aspects of domestic and cross-border acquisitions, dispositions, and group reorganisations.
