Curtis Fisher advises public and private companies on all aspects of employee benefits, including the design, drafting and operation of qualified plans and health and welfare benefit plans. A significant amount of his practice is devoted to employee benefit and executive compensation matters related to merger and acquisition transactions. In the past year alone, Curtis has provided advice in more than 60 merger or acquisition transactions. Additionally, Curtis routinely advises clients on executive compensation matters, including the application of Section 409A to employment agreements, equity arrangements and non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements. Curtis frequently represents clients on employee benefit matters involving the IRS, Department of Labor and the Pension and Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), including litigation, plan audits, and correction programs. Curtis has been at the forefront of health reform issues, speaking frequently on the subject and advising his clients on compliance, including several clients with unique corporate structures that add to the complexity of compliance with the new law.
