Janis Penman Bio

Janis Penman has counseled clients in all aspects of their businesses for more than 20 years. Although she has represented companies in a myriad of industries, she has extensive experience within the healthcare and life sciences sectors, routinely assisting companies in the pharmaceutical and medical device areas. Clients include start-up enterprises, companies in the emerging and growth stages and large multinational corporations, all of whom she represents with respect to M&A transactions, capital raising activities and day-to-day business counseling. She takes time to study the business environment of each client to determine both the risks of and the precautions that must be taken during a deal, and provides advice that best addresses clients’ individual needs. Janis serves as the Washington, D.C. Business Leader and is a member of the firm’s Policy Committee. She is also the business development leader and hiring partner for the Washington, D.C. office.
