Joost Polman Bio

Joost is a corporate partner in the M&A and Private Equity practice of Baker McKenzie. He acts for domestic and international private equity funds, pension fund managers, founders, management teams, as well as family-owned companies and corporates. Joost is often praised for his solution-driven approach and strategic mindset. Joost advises his clients on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions, including takeovers, leveraged buyouts, (add-on) acquisitions, divestments, auctions, joint ventures, minority investments and management equity programs. While his clients operate across a wide range of sectors, he has significant experience in the financial sector as well as the media, IT, technology and telecom sectors. Joost is a member of the firm's Technology group. Aside this, Joost regularly lectures university students, peers or clients at seminars and workshops on a wide range of M&A-related topics. Joost has registered the following principal legal practice area in the Netherlands Bar's register of legal practice areas: Corporate Law. Based on this registration, he is required to obtain a minimum of ten training credits per calendar year in in this practice area in accordance with the standards set by The Netherlands Bar.
