Anne-Marie Godfrey has extensive experience advising investment managers throughout Asia on the establishment and regulation of hedge funds, private equity funds, credit funds and retail funds. She counsels extensively on Hong Kong and European regulatory and fund structuring issues and has considerable experience regarding the acquisition of fund management companies and in drafting and negotiating seed agreements. She also advises sovereign and institutional investors on private equity, seed and hedge fund investments, as well as the listing of investment funds on various stock exchanges. Anne-Marie speaks and publishes extensively on investment funds and regulatory issues and is a member of a number of regulatory committees which are influential in the development of regulatory policy in Hong Kong. She is a recipient of numerous awards for her work as an investment funds lawyer. She is listed in the 2022 edition of IFLR1000 Women Leaders, an elite ranking category reserved for the most prominent women lawyers across the world and recently won ‘Best in Investment Funds’ at the Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards 2020. For more than a decade she has been listed as a leading lawyer for investment funds in the Asia Pacific editions of Chambers, Legal 500 and the IFLR1000. She is also listed as a top practitioner in the Who’s Who Legal’s Private Funds 2022 Guide and in three 2021 Euromoney Expert Guides: Women in Business Law, Banking, Finance and Transactional, and Investment Funds.
