Jim Owen is a Managing Director in the Investment Banking group. He brings more than 20 years of experience executing mergers and acquisitions (M&A), debt and equity financing, capital raising, board advisory, valuation, and strategic alternatives analysis for middle market companies and large corporate segments, in the U.S. and internationally. Jim has deep experience in the construction, engineering, utility services, and industrials sectors. Before joining Stout, Jim was a Senior Advisor at Verit Advisors, a boutique advisory firm providing ESOP, M&A, debt capital markets, valuation, and board advisory services to middle market firms nationwide. He also started a private equity-backed investment firm, Alpine Lake Capital Partners, that raised equity capital to acquire middle market firms in the utility services, industrial services, power generation, and specialty infrastructure sectors. Prior to that, Jim was a Director at Houlihan Lokey and, earlier, a relationship manager at Harris Bank/Bank of Montreal in the firm’s Engineering & Construction group. Jim has significant experience as a presenter, panel moderator, and panelist at industry conferences.
