Bio

Colin Singleton is a Transaction Advisory Services principal (partner) who leads both buy- and sell-side due diligence projects including for stand-alone acquisitions, corporate carve-outs, add-on transactions, joint ventures and lending situations ranging in size from under $10 million to over $50 billion. He has led hundreds of engagements for both corporate and private equity / financial investors in a variety of industries including industrial manufacturing, consumer products and services, technology, business services, government contracting, distribution, chemicals, retail, hospitality, franchises, aerospace and defense, energy, resources, telecom, education and media. Colin has over 20 years’ experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on transformational global and domestic diligence projects, bringing to bear financial due diligence, technical accounting, tax, valuation, IT, operational, separation, integration, HR, M&A strategy, performance improvement, and commercial resources. His work includes advising on aspects such as transaction structures and the financial terms of purchase agreements, in addition to realization of post-closing synergy and profitability enhancement opportunities. Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2018, Colin was a managing director in the deal advisory practice at KPMG in New York and Washington, DC. Originally from the U.K., Colin has been based in the U.S. for more than 11 years. He is a dual U.S. and U.K. citizen and has worked in over 50 countries including a two year placement in Beijing, China in 2008-9. Colin is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and received his BSc in Economics & Finance from the University of York in England.
