Tensie Axton specializes in developing and executing successful operational and financial strategies for businesses in various stages of their business cycle. Ms. Axton has more than 30 years of experience in a variety of industries, including healthcare, financial institutions, telecom and media, business services, manufacturing and distribution. Ms. Axton’s experience includes mergers and acquisitions, start-up and high-growth businesses, capital markets, lender negotiations, financial reporting, system implementations, operations and human resources. Prior to FTI Consulting, she was the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) of Neighbors Health, a 34-location, multistate, free-standing emergency room company, the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) of a roll-up of troubled multidisciplinary physician practices and the CFO of a bank holding company. Earlier in her career, Ms. Axton spent 20 years at KPMG in roles including Auditor and Transaction Services Partner. As an auditor, her clients were primarily publicly traded banks that were active in both public debt and equity markets. As Transaction Services Partner, she performed financial diligence on more than 200 companies and led the financial integrations of multibillion-dollar public entities in the mining and waste industries. During her tenure at KPMG, she led the Transaction Services Practices in Denver and Silicon Valley and served as the office Managing Partner for the Denver office, where she was Lead Client Service Partner on various Fortune 1000 companies.
