Steven Jiang Bio

Steven Jiang is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Transaction Advisory Group in Shanghai. He specializes in accounting and financial analysis for buy- and sell-side transaction matters for private equity firms and strategic buyers. With more than six years of experience, Mr. Jiang has worked across a range of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, TMT, consumer goods and retail, transportation and e-commerce. He has also developed strong technical skills and in-depth knowledge of PRC GAAP, IFRS and HK GAAP through his audit experience. Mr. Jiang has worked on a number of high profile and landmark transactions, including a European multinational corporation’s acquisition of several cutting tools producers in China; a large RMB PE firm’s investment in a medical equipment manufacturer located in Suzhou; a state-owned RMB fund’s investment in a NASDAQ-listed semiconductor company in Korea; a joint consortium’s acquisition of a cosmetic packaging company in Suzhou; a large foreign PE firm’s investment in a Hong Kong medical service company; a state-owned PE fund’s acquisition of several nephropathy specialist hospitals across the country; a U.S. PE firm’s minority investment in a leading retail chain store in Xiamen; and a large Chinese PE firm’s minority investment in an A-share listed software company in Beijing. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Jiang spent two years in financial advisory with EY and four years in audit with PwC, where he provided clients with audit, internal control improvement, tax attestation and financial due diligence services. He also participated in several audit engagements at PwC, including H-share IPO audit, internal control improvement, interim review and annual audit of a famous port service company in Shandong province, as well as annual audit work of several manufacturing companies, including chemical products, auto parts, medical products and other industrial goods. Mr. Jiang earned a bachelor’s degree from the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and an MBA degree from Fudan University. He is a member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, he has passed China’s unified qualification exam for legal professionals. A PRC national, Mr. Jiang is fluent in Mandarin and English.
