Stephen Denton Bio

Stephen Denton is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Digital Technology Services in London. He brings 24 years of experience in leadership roles across technology consulting, information technology services outsourcing and private equity sectors. Mr. Denton specializes in delivering IT enabled value creation and business outcomes. Previously, this was achieved through transformations and outsourcing within the IT service provide sector. Recently, Mr. Denton has focused on driving value creation within private equity. He has worked on 50+ transactions where there have been complex IT separations, aggressive timescales and the need for IT transformation. Additionally, Mr. Denton’s brings expertise in creating buy-side value through IT due diligence and commercial negotiation, mobilization of carve-out project teams, taking on interim Chief Information Officer/Chief Technology Officer accountability, building new IT functions, delivering IT transformation projects, cost saving programs and sell-side preparation. He has worked across a range of industries, including technology, media and telecom, retail, government, mechanical engineering and fleet management. Mr. Denton’s notable engagements include delivering complex IT carve-outs from organizations, including BT (BT Fleet Solutions), SSE (SSE Contracting & Rail) and Connect Group (Connect Books, inc. Bertrams, Dawson Books, Wordery, Erasmus and Houtchilds); integrating add-on acquisitions, including NEC and Colt at Getronics, Pullman Fleet Solution and Autoglass Body Repair at Rivus; serving as interim CIO/CTO and building new IT functions (Working Links, Bertram Group, Rivus Fleet Solutions and Enerveo); and leading IT transformation programs from End User Complete, Network and WAN, Data Centre and Cloud, infrastructure, line of business applications and enterprise resource planning. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Denton served as Director with Aurelius Equity Opportunities' IT practice in London, where he led all technology topics throughout the investment life-cycle, from due diligence to exit, with a focus on shareholder value creation. Previously, Mr. Denton held multiple roles in the industry, including running professional services businesses, leading complex IT outsourcing solutions, Date Centre and Cloud strategies, Group CIO and CTO and leading corporate development and acquisition portfolios. Mr. Denton earned a bachelor’s degrees in computing from the Leeds University.
