Rhys Morgan Bio

Rhys Morgan is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Chief Financial Officer Services in London. With more than 15 years of experience, Mr. Morgan works with management teams to drive financial and operational improvement. His primary areas of focus are business/turnaround planning, cost reduction, operational transformation and cash forecasting and management (both distressed and non-distressed). He has worked with private equity and corporate clients across a range of industries, including retail, consumer products, industrials, transport and construction across the U.K., Europe and the Middle East. Mr. Morgan’s notable assignments include leading a 10-month programme at a large, international Pharma client to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities across general and admin expenses, direct and indirect procurement, operations and logistics, generating significant EBITDA improvement. He also led a rapid two-week assessment for a private equity owned retailer to identify cost saving opportunities in operating expenses and elements of COGS. This included an assessment of the levers to pull, impact and an implementation roadmap considering cost, complexity and timing implications. Additionally, Mr. Morgan led a business turnaround for a private equity owned industrials company, involving rapidly stabilising and managing cash performance and developing a bottom-up business improvement plan based on enhanced cost and operational performance; set up the cash office for a European retailer during the COVID-19 crisis, working across more than six geographies to design the terms of reference and lead the roll-out of processes, controls and governance to robustly monitor and forecast cash performance and identify and pull cash preservation levers; and led the operational transformation at a newly acquired, under-performing consumer products business. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Morgan spent 10+ years with KPMG, where he gained experience across a range of teams, including Audit, Operational Transformation and the Special Situations Group. Mr. Morgan earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and financial management (first class honours) from Loughborough University. He is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
