Massimo Franzese is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Business Technology in London. He brings over 25 of experience in information technology in both industry and consulting. His primary areas of concentration are due diligence, carve-outs and interim management. Mr. Franzese has worked with clients in various industries, including retail, consumer products, food and beverage, life sciences, chemical, automotive, telecom and engineering. Most recently at A&M, Mr. Franzese has led the carve-out of Whirlpool EMEA and contribution into a joint venture with Arçelik to create the largest European manufacturer of home appliances. Prior to that, he led the carveoOut of Calderys from Imerys corporation on behalf of Platinum Equity, a transaction involving six industrial sites in 16 countries. Mr. Franzese was also the lead IT advisor for the sale-side diligence for the split of ATOS into two new enterprises. Previously, Mr.Franzese spent 18 months working with ICE, an Advent company. He was responsible for the IT improvement plan and then took the role of Interim CIO for 15 months, then led a sell-side diligence mandate at ICE working for the asset under the entire Advent ownership cycle. Prior to joining A&M, Massimo was IT Director and Integration director for Indesit integration in EMEA for Whirlpool corporation. Mr. Franzese also served as IT M&A advisor for Ernst & Young and worked for several other listed and privately owned business as Program Director, IT M&A advisor, or interim executive. Mr. Franzese earned a master’s degree in electronic engineering from Pisa University and an MBA from Warwick University. He is an MSP Practitioner and is ITIL V3.0, PRINCE2, and AGILE qualified. A native Italian speaker, Mr. Franzese is also fluent in English.
