Jason Kahn Bio

Jason Kahn is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in New York. With 12 years of experience, he specializes in strategic finance, liquidity and working capital management, interim management, organizational design strategy and implementation, cost management and takeout, budgeting and forecasting, modeling and analytics, and financial accounting. Mr. Kahn’s notable engagements include serving as interim Cash Czar for $1.2 billion emergency medical services provider, where he executed $71.6 million in liquidity improvement initiatives and identified another $70 million. He designed and implemented a cash management office to prioritize and reduce spend, actively manage disbursement and identify and execute liquidity improvement initiatives. Additionally, he helped re-tool the company’s treasury and financial models to more accurately and actively manage cash. Previously, Mr. Kahn was interim CFO for a $100 million international membership and education company. He led the carve-out of their finance and accounting function and the build-out of core infrastructure (treasury management system, ERP, accounts payable, banking), processes (cash forecasting and management, financial forecasting, KPI definition, actionable insights through management reporting), people (organizational design and hiring for critical roles), and execution of critical separation tasks (contract cutover, opening balance sheet). Mr. Kahn was an interim member of the management team for a $150 million SaaS company, where he led the design and implementation of cash management processes including identification and quantification of cash preservation opportunities. Prior to that, he was Interim Director of Finance for a $250 million diversified custom door manufacturer; assisted a private equity-owned manufacturer of vinyl windows and siding in the carve-out of their distribution business; and assisted a ~$3 billion manufacturer of consumer durable goods by designing and building a dynamic three-statement model. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Kahn was a Senior Manager with Ernst and Young in their Capital Management Advisory practice. Mr. Kahn earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He has a CPA license in New York State (inactive).
