Gaurav Patel Bio

Gaurav Patel is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Transaction Advisory Group in Toronto. His primary areas of concentration include providing buy- and sell-side financial due diligence services to private equity and corporate clients. With more than 18 years of transaction experience, Mr. Patel specializes in identification and assessment of financial risk areas; quantification of items which directly impact transaction valuation (e.g., understanding normalized EBITDA, quality of earnings, working capital requirements, debt and debt-like items and discounted cash flow modelling); and analysis of key performance indicators. Mr. Patel has advised on 150+ domestic and cross-border transactions in Canada, India and the U.S. He has worked across a range of industries, including waste management and environmental services, technology, telecommunications, automotive, manufacturing and consumer packaged goods. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Patel was with the transaction services group of KPMG in Toronto, where he most recently served as Director. Previously, he spent over 14 years with the transaction services group of Deloitte in Toronto, Mumbai and New York. Mr. Patel earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce and accounting from the University of Mumbai and graduated from the H.R. College of Commerce & Economics. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
