Elliott Neal is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Dallas. He is a leader of the practice’s Working Capital and Cash Improvement offering. Mr. Neal specializes in improving cash flow from operations and leading company-wide transformations. He has led working capital engagements across industries for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to private equity-owned firms, and has served as Chief Transformation Officer for multiple companies. Mr. Neal’s experience spans two dozen engagements with representative examples including improving a multichannel retailer’s working capital management across inventory, payables and receivables to create $120 million in operating cash flow; optimizing an automotive supplier’s accounts payable policies and systems to generate $80 million cash upside within four months; serving as CTO of a retail products manufacturer responsible for an 18-month turnaround involving 100+ initiatives; serving as CTO of a retail company responsible for designing and launching a transformation to increase the company’s enterprise value by $600 million; and advising a PE firm on the turnaround of an offshore energy production company that generated $25 million in annual cost savings. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Neal spent eight years with McKinsey & Company, where he led many of its working capital engagements in North America; served as CTO for private equity clients; and led financial planning and program management for the largest public sector debt restructuring in U.S. history (Puerto Rico). Previously, Mr. Neal was employed by Seacor Holdings and its subsidiaries, during which he led a multi-year turnaround as a Division Vice President. Before that, he served as a U.S. Army infantry officer who led paratrooper units during two combat deployments. Mr. Neal earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
