Vasanti Lau is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Transaction Advisory Group in Toronto. With more than 13 years of professional experience, Ms. Lau specializes in providing financial due diligence services to private equity sponsors and strategic corporate clients. She has worked on 75+ public and private mandates globally, including acquisitions, divestitures, working capital disputes and carve-out transactions. Ms. Lau has worked across a range of industries, including private equity, packaging, consumer durables, healthcare, software, distribution, automotive, retail, education, waste management, mining and metals, media and entertainment, payment processing and agriculture. Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Lau spent more than eight years with the Strategy and Transactions group at Ernst & Young in Toronto, where she most recently served as Senior Manager. There, she provided transaction diligence services to private equity sponsors and strategic corporate clients. Previously, Ms. Lau served with Ernst & Young’s Assurance practice in Toronto, where she audited SEC and TSX registrants, as well as private equity-owned portfolio companies in the automotive, industrial manufacturing and mining sectors. Ms. Lau earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and financial management and a MAcc from the University of Waterloo. She is a Chartered Professional Accountant with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario and a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
