Tracy Darrow is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Miami. He specializes in assessing businesses, driving improvements, creating value and leading interim executive roles in supply chain, procurement, manufacturing operations, aftermarket services, acquisitions and program management. His primary sectors are aerospace, aviation, space, defense, industrial, rail and power generation. With 30 years experience, Mr. Darrow has deep expertise from industry, private equity (PE), U.S. Department of Defense and advisory services. He has experience in production and maintenance operations of aero engines, aircraft accessories, industrial gas turbines, locomotives, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical power. Mr. Darrow has worked globally in progressively more senior roles up to Vice President of program management and supply chain for complex aero engine assemblies. Mr. Darrow’s notable assignments include procurement, inventory management, material planning, supplier quality, manufacturing, MRO services, field engineering and contract management for two aero engine original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and two industrial OEMs. He focused on life cycle management, built-in quality and total cost of acquisition across several categories (castings, forgings, logistics, fasteners, kitting, special processes, grinding, fabrications and machining). In other leadership roles, Mr. Darrow focused on cost, working capital, risk mitigation, turn-around, interim executive, corrective actions, “make versus buy” decisions, dual sourcing, low-cost country sourcing (Asia-Pacific) and re-shoring. Early in his career, Mr. Darrow led teams in various roles in aftermarket services, performance improvements, contracts, global sourcing and operations. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Darrow served with GE, Rolls-Royce, Dover, Paradigm Precision (PE sponsored by the Carlyle Group), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and KPMG. In his last role, he focused on procurement/operations/MRO performance improvement, federal transformation, commercial/operational due diligence. Mr. Darrow earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental and civil engineering from Clarkson University. He has a current Secret Security Clearance – U.S. DoD and served as an Officer in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and 2nd Infantry Division.
