Bio

Toya Asbury is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement practice in New York. She specializes in driving large-scale business transformation, value creation, and cost improvement programs. With 20 years of industry and consulting experience, Ms. Asbury focuses on advising private equity sponsors on pre-acquisition operational due diligence and post-acquisition performance improvement, identifying and executing cost and process optimization initiatives. She has led labor and third-party expense reduction through P&L examination, organizational and operational process redesign, procurement-driven solutions, and strategy development and execution. Ms. Asbury has worked with clients across various industries including automotive, major and regional airlines, manufacturing and consumer products. Ms. Asbury’s notable assignments include:leading the execution of a comprehensive transformation program for a $2 billion global consumer goods manufacturer, driving $26 million in working capital, $100 million in asset sales, and $97 million in EBITDA improvement; transforming an operating model and delivery framework to achieve $15 million in cost improvement across a $1 billion global marketing outsourcing provider; leading rapid results assessment and execution for a $6 billion manufacturer and distributor of copper, aluminum and optical fiber cables, driving 9% savings through strategic sourcing and negotiations in direct materials despite primary supplier stronghold on the client’s business. Ms. Asbury led synergy identification and achievement activities for a $1 billion flexible packaging merger of equals, identifying back-office labor and direct and indirect material cost synergies, while coordinating and executing Day-1 activities. She also led integration for a combined $2 billion producer, supplier and marketer of bulk and specialty salt, including pre-close planning activities and Day-1 readiness, while charting the development and execution of functional 100-day plans and onboarding the combined company’s new Chief Transformation Officer. Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Asbury was a Manager at Accenture’s Supply Chain and Strategic Sourcing practice. Ms. Asbury earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Duke University and an MBA from Pennsylvania State University.
