Rupi Singh is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Houston. He brings more than 15 years of experience in end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing, commercial functions and engineering/innovation. Mr. Singh’s primary areas of concentration include operational improvements, manufacturing and supply chain strategy, network design and product profitability to drive measurable EBITDA uplifts and working capital improvements. He has worked across a range of industries, including chemicals, refining, mining, diversified industrials and consumer packaged goods. Most recently, Mr. Singh led the supply chain transformation at a global specialty chemicals company. He focused on sales, inventory and operations planning, freight cost and allocation, inventory management, global OTIF and MTO/MTS manufacturing strategy, resulting in a working capital reduction of $15+ million, near-term cash release and labor productivity improvements. Mr. Singh also led the supply chain, manufacturing and commercial digital strategy development for a privately-held global specialty chemicals company, with a focus on driving margin improvements aligned with an integrated roadmap of quick wins and foundational and growth focused initiatives. Some key improvements included maintenance and reliability, integrated planning, pricing execution and operational/financial analytics and reporting. Additionally, Mr. Singh led the downstream manufacturing transformation of a Canadian refiner with assets across North America, focusing on speed-to-value operational improvements across processes, workforce, technology and digital enablement; acquisition integration playbooks; and setting up a transformation management office. Several key improvements included throughput, predictive maintenance, driving efficiency in operator rounds, MRO inventory management and supply chain control tower. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Singh served with the strategy consulting business of a large global professional services firm and at an oil and gas focused private equity fund. He began his career with Bell Helicopter Textron, where he worked across engineering and operations to support the company’s entire suite of commercial and military helicopters and tilt rotors. Mr. Singh earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, a master’s degree in aerospace engineering from Penn State and an MBA from Chicago Booth.
