Bio

Rosco Newsom is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Washington, D.C. With more than 20 years of industry and consulting experience, Mr. Newsom specializes in industrial products, with a focus on aerospace, defense, space and government services. His primary areas of concentration are operations planning, transaction services, digital transformation, market evaluation and corporate strategy. He has worked with clients across various industries, including aerospace and defense, industrial products, power and utility, oil and gas and healthcare. Most recently, Mr. Newsom was responsible for leading space-related engagements in the Middle East on topics including commercial space station viability, LEO-PNT solution development and interplanetary spaceflight cooperation. His other notable assignments include work on F-35 Joint Strike Fighter sustainment affordability; DDG 51-class guided missile destroyer cost reduction; and MilSatCom microelectronics manufacturing improvement. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Newsom spent three years as a Partner at EY-Parthenon’s Advanced Manufacturing & Mobility group in Washington, D.C. In this role, he maintained a portfolio of business strategy, transaction services and technology-related projects in areas such as military platform readiness, government services and sustainable aviation fuel. Additionally, he performed the role of Office Leader, where he drove DEI initiatives, delivered on social impact goals and created learning and development opportunities for personnel across five offices in the Washington, D.C. area. Previously, Mr. Newsom served as Director in the Aerospace & Defense practice at PwC Strategy&; Business Development Manager at Eaton Corporation; and an Aerospace Engineer and Project Manager at Northrop Grumman. Mr. Newsom earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering and a master’s degree in engineering (concentration in electrical and computer engineering) from Cornell University, and an MBA in finance from UCLA Anderson School of Business. In addition, he earned certificates in aerospace program management from California Institute of Technology and business analytics from Harvard University.
