RJ Jain is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Chicago. He serves clients across a range of industries, including technology and professional services. With more than 17 years of experience, Mr. Jain has led assurance for private, IPO-bound and public companies and has coordinated audit services for private equity firms. Mr. Jain's notable engagements include acting as an Interim CFO for a $2 billion multinational entity, overseeing financial reporting, budgeting and planning, leading third party lender (public and private) calls, communicating with the board and the audit committee, and overseeing the shared services center. Previously, he led the evaluation and transformation of the finance and accounting function and implemented policies to streamline and create efficiencies in monthly reporting (KPI and monthly financials) for various companies. Mr. Jain has led projects related to capital market transactions (including private placements ranging from $100 million to over $2 billion), including coordination with underwriters, legal counsel and other related agencies. He has served as a relationship executive for a PE firm, overseeing and developing the reporting structure for several portfolio companies. Mr. Jain used business measurements to validate financial results across multiple portfolio companies and jurisdictions, including acquisitions, providing valuable insights on business, control and financial reporting issues. Previously, Mr. Jain led an IPO engagement for a tech company with a market capital of $9+ billion, reviewing the SEC filings (including S-4 documents) and communication with the underwriters and legal counsel and addressing SEC comment letter responses. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Jain served as Managing Director with EY assurance services. He spent 11 years in the EY Chicago office and over six years in the firm’s India office. Mr. Jain also served as Deputy Assurance Leader for EY’s Offshore central region office, developing and implementing policies related to the offshore practice and improving the integration of the offshore staff, which reduced onshore costs and enhanced efficiencies. Mr. Jain earned a master's degree in commerce from Pune University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Accountant (India); member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
