Bio

Richard Haddock is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in London. He specializes in transaction-related technology delivery and technology diligence. He also leads the technology carve-out capability for A&M in Europe. With over 20 years of technology and consulting experience, Mr. Haddock has held roles as a CIO in industry and Senior Director in professional services. His industry experience includes work in technology, retail, manufacturing, energy, and travel. His technical experience has spanned most aspects of a technology function, including infrastructure, operations, application development, program management, finance, and strategy. Mr. Haddock’s notable work for PE clients includes roles as interim CIO as well as IT carve-out lead. Recently he served as combined CIO and carve-out lead for a $3 billion business that divested five subsidiaries over a two-year period. His value creation work has focused on outsourcing and technology strategy updates, reviews and execution. Mr. Haddock has led cost reduction reviews and delivery in the construction, oil and gas, and travel industries. He has also led projects as a reporting accountant on synergy assessments for mergers of listed companies, including U.S./U.K. mergers and mergers and proposed mergers in the FTSE 100. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Haddock served as Head of IT Strategy and Transformation with Centrica, where he was responsible for IT strategy and delivery of major strategy-related programmes. He also worked in technology management roles at PA Consulting and Accenture. He led SAP and infrastructure project workstreams prior to taking leadership of a variety of large infrastructure programs. Mr. Haddock started his career at Exxon where he held a number of IT operations, application support and project management roles. His business unit experience includes fuels marketing, refining, and exploration and production. Mr. Haddock earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Loughborough and completed ExxonMobil’s Executive Development Programme at London Business School. He is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds an ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management (ITSM).
