Luis Santos Blazquez is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement practice in Madrid. He brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial operations, strategy, business development, M&A and post-merger integration. Mr. Santos Blazquez has extensive experience in executive committee roles and advisory experience for leading European companies. He focuses on telecom, technology and media (TTM) and also has extensive experience working with clients in financial services. He has expertise exploring value creation in the intersection of industries and technologies and broad experience in business development. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Santos Blazquez spent fourteen years at Orange Group, serving most recently as Head of Europe M&A and Integration projects at its headquarters in Paris. He has hands-on experience in integrating some of the biggest M&A deals in Spain, Romania and Belgium. Mr. Santos Blazquez also held executive positions as Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Innovation Officer and VP of Marketing at Orange Spain. As Chief Customer Officer, he was responsible for building Orange Bank’s Spanish branch in Agile in less than 18 months. His key responsibility areas were product development, marketing and sales. Previously, Mr. Santos Blazquez spent nine years with McKinsey & Company, most recently as Associate Principal. He delivered more than 45 assignments in Europe and Latin America, advising top Spanish and Portuguese corporations in the telecom, banking, airline and energy industries. He also worked in due diligence processes for private equity firms. Mr. Santos Blazquez earned a master’s degree in telecom engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a master’s degree in fintech from Harvard Business School. A Spanish national, he is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
