Lin Zhu is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Performance Improvement in Shanghai. She specializes in strategy and operational consulting business and mergers and acquisitions strategic advisory. Ms. Zhu’s primary areas of concentration are market entry/growth strategy; market/customer study and process/organizational optimization; and M&A strategy development, target screening, commercial due diligence, post merger integration strategy and execution support. With more than 16 years of consulting and industrial experience, Ms. Zhu has worked with leading players in the market, especially focusing on the automotive and industrial goods areas. Her notable assignments include leading auto original equipment manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Ford and FAW; auto parts players such as Adient; and other players such as auto finance companies, chauffeur/fleet platforms and various industrial goods companies. Ms. Zhu is an expert in emerging topics, including new energy vehicles, autonomous driving, customer experience and carbon neutrality/ESG. Ms. Zhu conducts strategy for clients and provides implementation support, including process optimization and organization optimization/setup. She is also experienced in M&A advisory. Working with international and local investors, Ms. Zhu has led commercial due diligence projects across various industries. For corporate clients, she led multiple market assessment, M&A strategy and target screening projects. Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Zhu spent over 10 years with Roland Berger and EY-Parthenon in China, where she most recently served as Partner. There, she facilitated Volkswagen to enforce NEV after-sales strategy; supported multiple key players in the automotive parts industry to build their five-year strategy and reshape their organization; and executed commercial due diligence services for various leading investors in areas of NEV, battery and e-commerce. Ms. Zhu earned a bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering from Tongji University and an MBA from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).
