Lawrence Ferrara is a Senior Director and Global Chief Learning Officer with Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Transaction Advisory Group in New York. He leads organizations through the talent development strategy and operations lifecycle. Mr. Ferrara has extensive knowledge and social science empirical research experience in instructional systems design, educational technologies, and cognitive and educational psychology, including the application of modern and post-modern phenomenological learning theories and practical design models. For the last two decades, he has focused on leading-edge workforce transformation strategies for function, business unit, and enterprises, aligning talent and business strategies. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Ferrara spent 17 years with Learning & Development at PwC in New York, serving most recently as Learning Strategy Leader for the Deals and Cybersecurity, Risk, and Regulatory platforms in Consulting. Additionally, he has defined and delivered talent development vision and strategy for consumer markets, industrial products, services sectors, Oracle, SAP, Guidewire, and data and analytics and technology business units. Mr. Ferrara designed the firm-wide digital upskilling learning experience focused on emerging technologies, data, and automation that culminated in a digital credential that was offered externally and internally. Previously, Mr. Ferrara was the Chief Learning Officer for ProEdge, PwC’s commercial upskilling and citizen-led innovation platform focused on leading-edge workforce transformation. Mr. Ferrara earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Kean University, a master’s degree in learning, design, and technologies from the Pennsylvania State University, and an Executive MBA (management of technology & operations, leadership, and change management specializations) from New York University Stern School of Business.
