Lars Knorn is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Services Operations Group in Boston. He brings more than 20 years of consulting experience focused primarily on business performance improvement and transformational programs requiring significant cost reductions. Mr. Knorn has advised clients from public companies to mid-market players across a range of industries including automotive, consumer, industrial products and financial services. He has worked on many cross-border projects across Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Most recently, he co-led an engagement for a b2b marketing service company and identified more than $20 million in cost take-out opportunities and eliminated 10 percent of non/low-profitable SKUs. Mr. Knorn’s notable assignments include assisting a cost optimization project for a $6 billion global food company by identifying over $50 million in SG&A related savings; supporting the transformation office for a global leader in the printing and publishing industry, resulting in $80 million of EBITDA improvements realized in the first 12 month, with an additional $90 million savings forecasted in the upcoming years; and assisting a $5 billion global metals and electronics recycling business with a cost optimization implementation program, resulting in more than $60 million EBITDA improvement opportunities identified. Additionally, Mr. Knorn supported the business transformation of a global leader in precision marketing by setting up the project governance for all key value creation initiatives and implementing a Results Delivery Office. He also assisted the integration of a North and South American construction chemical business into the Americas organization of global chemical player by managing more than 20 teams and implementing 1,500+ integration measures. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Knorn was a Managing Director at Droege Group, Inc. in New York, where he was part of the company’s global management team. Before his role in the U.S., he spent 10 years in Germany, where he primarily focused on re-organization and merger integration in the financial service industry. Mr. Knorn earned an MBA from the University of Augsburg in Germany.
