Douglas Lowrie is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal's Transaction Advisory Group in Chicago. With more than 16 years of experience providing financial due diligence services to private equity and corporate clients, he has led/participated in over 230 due diligence projects spanning a variety of industries including consumer products, distribution, retail, manufacturing, business services, and health care. Throughout his career, Mr. Lowrie has directed numerous integrated transaction services engagements in both buy-side and sell-side situations and has significant experience supporting clients on complex cross-border transactions. His clients include CHS Capital, Baird Capital Partners, American Securities, Catterton Partners, and Waud Capital Partners. Mr. Lowrie‘s transaction advisory functional focus areas include critical analysis of quality of earnings, quality of net assets, and working capital requirements, identification of growth and profitability drivers, assessment of the applicability of financial and accounting components of acquisition and financing agreements, and verification and analysis of post-closing adjustment mechanisms. He also routinely leads financial analysis of management projection models, synergy evaluations, carve-out considerations, and cost savings determinations. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Lowrie was a Partner with the transaction advisory services practice of Ernst & Young in Chicago, leading financial due diligence projects primarily for middle-market private equity clients. He also provided audit services to various public and private companies in the manufacturing, business services, and real estate industries in Chicago and Indianapolis. Mr. Lowrie earned a bachelor's degree in business (concentration in finance and accounting) from Indiana University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the State of Illinois. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Illinois CPA Society.
