David Savage is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal's Global Transaction Advisory Group in Sydney. He specialises in private equity transactions, conducting financial due diligence engagements for both buyers and sellers across a range of industries, including technology, leisure, consumer and retail, education, hospitality and industrial services. With more than 15 years of transaction services experience, Mr. Savage was originally based in London leading European transactions and is now focused on the Australian market. His deal experience includes platform acquisitions, bolt-on transactions, carve-outs and balance sheet restructures. Mr. Savage’s recent engagements include Potentia Capital’s acquisition of Nitro Software (the global competitor to Adobe); Pacific Equity Partner’s acquisition of Genie Solutions (healthcare operational software); Navis Capital’s investment in Software Combined including various follow-on acquisitions; the acquisition of ContentKeeper for Impero Software; TDR Capital’s vendor due diligence in relation to the David Lloyd Leisure Fitness chain in the U.K; Oaktree Capital’s proposed investment in Freedom Foods (an Australian milk producer) and other education and consumer related transactions. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Savage spent four years with KPMG in Sydney, seven years with KPMG’s Private Equity Group in London and seven years as a founding member of FTI Consulting’s London-based Transaction Services Group. Mr. Savage earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce (focused on accounting) and science (focused on IT). He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand.
