David Knight is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Houston. His primary areas of concentration are interim leadership, business performance improvement, and corporate strategy. Mr. Knight has worked with clients in various industries, including automotive, consumer goods, construction services, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. With more than 23 years of industry and consulting experience, Mr. Knight has held executive management roles, advised on large acquisition deals, and led numerous performance improvement engagements at private equity portfolio companies. Mr. Knight’s notable assignments include guiding a $3.8 billion regional staffing company through an acquisition, integration, and transformation; re-structuring a $1.1 billion beauty products and cosmetics company; and leading a $4.5 billion electrical equipment manufacturer through its next evolution. Mr. Knight’s interim executive assignments include COO roles at a $250 million print and marketing company and a $500 million consumer goods company. He has also led an environmental services company and was recently interim CEO of a $200 million construction services company. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Knight spent eight years in the automotive industry, responsible most recently or new product business development. He has also held positions in engineering and manufacturing for a major U.S. automaker. Mr. Knight earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Detroit, Mercy and an MBA from Michigan State University Broad School of Business.
