David Kent is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal‘s Transaction Advisory Group in New York. He specializes in providing both buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence services to private equity and corporate clients on transactions valued from $20 million to $5 billion. His expertise in transactions ranges from both lower- and middle-market acquisition targets to complex, multi-billion-dollar cross-border projects. With more than 13 years of transaction experience, Mr. Kent's areas of expertise include identification and assessment of financial risk areas, quantification of items directly impacting transaction valuation (e.g., understanding normalized EBITDA, adequacy of working capital levels, debt items), analysis of key performance indicators, purchase agreement reviews and carve-out transaction implications. Mr. Kent has worked with clients across various industries including manufacturing, retail, consumer products, industrial products, business services, information services, technology, and media and entertainment. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Kent worked in the transaction advisory services group at Ernst & Young in New York. In this role, he spent seven years in London advising U.K. and European-based private equity and strategic clients. Mr. Kent earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Memphis. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
