Bio

Daniel LaMantia is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Private Equity Performance Improvement Group in Austin. He specializes in interim management, performance improvement and operations due diligence. With nearly 20 years of supply chain and manufacturing experience, he supports private equity portfolio companies, leading large and complex supply chain and manufacturing performance improvement turnarounds. He has worked with clients in various industries, including aerospace and defense, automotive, food and beverage, industrial and consumer products. Recently, Mr. LaMantia led a corporate transformation for a large manufacturer of lawn and garden equipment that captured $75+ million in EBITDA and working capital improvement of $100 million. His team facilitated a pivot from domestic manufacture to an asset-light import/distribution model, optimized logistics and distribution, project managed more than five factory shutdowns, managed inventory transitions, developed employee communication and assistance programs, and enabled asset and real estate sales. Previously, Mr. LaMantia partnered with a PE portfolio company awarded sole source production contract for COVID-19 vaccine (Warp Speed) thermal packaging. He led a cross-functional program that designed/constructed a greenfield ~260,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, installed and ramped-up of 30 production lines and hire/onboard 300+ employees over a 12-week period. The on-time and on-budget operational readiness enabled client to capture incremental $80+ million in EBITDA. Mr. LaMantia also led the A&M rapid results process for a large-cap PE portfolio client that identified and captured $12.5 million in EBITDA improvement across multiple workstreams including factory footprint consolidation, manufacturing capacity utilization and yield improvement, materials and indirect strategic sourcing, freight sourcing of TL, LTL and small parcel cost reduction, and pricing/margin management. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. LaMantia held key leadership positions at Textron Corp. He served as the Operations and Integrated Supply Chain Division Manager at Aerospace Armaments Incorporated, Electronic Warfare Systems and was responsible for all operations and supply chain functions. Mr. LaMantia also held leadership positions at other Textron subsidiaries including E-Z-GO, Bell Helicopter, and Kautex Automotive. Mr. LaMantia earned a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and an MBA from the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
