Bio

Brandon Smith is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Chicago. He specializes in human capital related due diligence and integration management. With more than 16 years of human capital consulting experience, Mr. Smith brings expertise across various facets of human resources, including total rewards, talent management, culture and human resources operations. He has worked on both domestic and global transactions in several industries, including healthcare, technology, energy and industrials. Mr. Smith’s human capital due diligence experience includes over 100 transactions for some of the world's largest private equity firms. Key expertise and services include employee related quality of earnings adjustments/debt-like items; potential changes in employee run-rate costs; change-in-control payments; retention risks; wage and hour compliance; and HR standalone costs. Additionally, Mr. Smith has supported several integrations and multinational carve-out transactions. Relevant experience includes the development and execution of the HR project plan, harmonization of employee benefits and policies, HR vendor selection and contract negotiations. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Smith served with Deloitte, where he advised corporate and private equity clients on human capital related matters. Mr. Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in actuarial mathematics from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.
