Bob Ruckh is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Global Transaction Advisory Group in New York. He delivers a broad range of A&M’s transaction advisory services to private equity funds, their portfolio companies and acquisitive corporate clients. With 41 years of experience, Mr. Ruckh has led or had direct responsibility for more than 1000 transactions, ranging from start-up and growth capital investments in founder and sponsor-owned businesses to multibillion dollar public and private cross-border M&A transactions, IPOs, 144A financings, lender refinancing transactions, recapitalizations, divestitures and carve-outs, as well as working capital mechanisms and disputes. Mr. Ruckh has led teams in 20+ countries and had two secondments in Europe. He has also worked on several large inbound projects for European and Asian buyers of U.S. businesses. Prior to joining Alvarez & Marsal, Mr. Ruckh was a Managing Director with Brightstar Capital Partners, where he worked with investment and fund professionals and outside advisers executing buy and sell-side transactions, then assisted in on-boarding new portfolio companies and executing value creation strategies. He was a board member and/or observer for several portfolio companies and a Chair of a portfolio Audit Committee. Previously, Mr. Ruckh spent 19 years with Ernst & Young, serving most recently as a Senior Partner in the Strategy and Transactions practice. He worked with premier global private equity firms, their portfolio companies, mega PE consortiums and Fortune 50 companies, providing financial due diligence services and delivering the full suite of EY’s capabilities. Prior to that, Mr. Ruckh worked with Arthur Andersen, where he helped start the Transaction Advisory Services practice. Mr. Ruckh earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Fordham University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in New York and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the New York State Society of CPAs. Mr. Ruckh is the Treasurer of the Ackerman Institute for the Family, serves on its board and is a member of its Executive Committee.
