Ashley Thompson is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Atlanta. She specializes in supply chain operations analytics, cost modeling, network design and network optimization across a range of industries, including consumer goods, food and beverage, retail, e-commerce and construction materials. With more than 15 years of experience, Ms. Thompson helps clients identify end-to-end supply chain optimization opportunities through data driven modeling and cost analysis. She brings expertise leading network design tools, including Aimms, Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru and Blue Yonder Supply Chain Strategist. Ms. Thompson’s notable accomplishments include leading analysis for buy-side operational due diligence assessments for e-commerce rug distributor, pet food manufacturer and frozen bakery targets, where she focused on network design, inventory optimization and distribution and logistics. She also led inventory optimization analysis for a SIOP capability assessment for a leading animal care and supplement manufacturer; designed a new distribution network for a divested brand start-up, including network and cost modeling to select a cold storage 3PL provider and establish a go-forward logistics budget; and evaluated a logistics opportunity to integrate the supply chains of two acquired companies with an overlapping customer base. Additionally, Ms. Thompson determined the best: Canadian distribution network for a leading bathroom faucet and fixture manufacturer that aligned with an already established North American manufacturing strategy and identified the cost and service optimal location for a second and third manufacturing site; last mile distribution network for a leading dairy manufacturer and distributor in North America; and manufacturing and distribution network for a biscuits and confections manufacturer in U.S. and Canada. Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Thompson spent five years as Director with Chainalytics’ Supply Chain Design practice. Previously, she spent eight years with Coca-Cola’s largest North American bottling company in Atlanta, most recently as Director — Direct Store Delivery Planning. Ms. Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering (honors) from Georgia Tech. She was recognized as a 2021 “Rock Star of the Supply Chain” by Food Logistics Magazine and was a recipient of the 2020 “Women in Supply Chain” award by Supply and Demand Chain Executive Magazine.
