Bio

Amit Laud is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal and Co-Head of the Private Equity Performance Improvement team in London. He brings 25 years of hands-on experience managing large value-creation programmes, operational transformations and merger integrations. Mr. Laud uses his extensive experience in the technology, financial and business services industries to help clients across Europe implement business and technology strategies and operating models. Recently, Mr. Laud helped the Executive Committee of a Global Healthcare provider of medical supplies with €2+ billion turnover develop a comprehensive internal and external benchmarking study and headcount/cost review to identify opportunities to improve SG&A efficiency in Europe. He also led a large cost reduction project for a global communications software and services company headquartered in Germany, reducing SG&A costs by 18% over a five-month period. Prior to that, Mr. Laud worked with a large private equity fund to carve out a telecom operator in Switzerland. He led the 100-day plan post-acquisition and EBITDA improvement programme for the technology and operations area to sustainably reduce costs by 10% in the first year. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Laud was Unit Head of Asset-Plus, a software division of GE HealthCare, the largest provider of asset management healthcare software in Europe. He restructured the unit, drastically reducing costs over six months to improve EBITDA. Previously, he applied Lean Six Sigma methodology as a Master Black Belt and served as CIO for GE HealthCare International, leading the $4 billion GE Healthcare acquisition and post-merger technology integration of Amersham. Earlier, Mr. Laud was with McKinsey in the U.S. and Scandinavia in the telecoms and high-tech sectors. Mr. Laud earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Mumbai University and an MBA (finance, strategy and information systems concentrations) from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
