Bio

Albert Lo is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal's Private Equity Performance Improvement Software, Technology, and Business Services industry group in San Francisco. He brings more than 20 years of transaction advisory and performance transformation experience working with private equity and Fortune 500 clients in technology, media and telecom (TMT), retail and consumer products solve transaction and operational challenges. Mr. Lo leads M&A strategy engagements across the deal lifecycle, including operational due diligence, transaction (integration/separation) execution, and performance improvement (PI). He also focuses on standalone cost and synergy assessments for complex transactions and carve-outs and leads execution and PI-related engagements, including sign-to-close and integration planning, organizational design and restructuring, margin expansion improvement, SG&A cost reduction, and supply chain operational performance improvement in procurement (strategic sourcing), logistics, and distribution. Mr. Lo’s recent operational due diligence engagements include managing the standalone and performance improvement take-private assessment for a $500 million publicly traded American cybersecurity firm; the carve-out/standalone assessment of a $1 billion leading global cybersecurity company focused on detecting cyberattacks; and the carve-out and synergy assessment of the enterprise products business of a $2.9 billion global security software company. Mr. Lo managed the carve-out/standalone assessment of a $1.4 billion technology provider of U.S., State, and local health and human services, delivering business technology enabled solutions for Medicaid related health programs and supporting separation activities for Day 1 readiness during sign-to-close period. Mr. Lo also led a standalone take-private and carve-out assessment of a $2.3 billion publicly traded global technology and services firm focused on technologies and services across commercial, defense and security markets. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Lo spent twelve years with KPMG and EY in San Francisco in their Strategy and M&A Services groups, focusing on transaction advisory, supply chain and operations performance improvement. He began his career in software development and implementation at IBM and Manhattan Associates. Mr. Lo earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Georgia State University.
