Adam McLelland is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in London. With over 20 years of experience, he specialises in providing performance improvement projects and due diligence services to private equity sponsors. Recently, Mr. McLelland advised the under-performing European division of a PE-owned global electronics business on performance improvement opportunities, as well as advised a PE-owned Finnish-based supplier to the marine industry on a transformation of its operating model. His work on this project also included subsequent operational due diligence of a bolt-on acquisition and integration of the acquired business into the new operating model. Mr. McLelland advised a PE-owned UK-based services business in relation to post-acquisition integration support; managed an operational due diligence, carve-out / TSA and post deal transformation for a now PE-owned French head-quartered multi-national business, providing branded products into both consumer and B2B markets acquired from a U.S. corporate. He later supported a bolt-on acquisition and synergy for the project. He also advised a PE owned UK-based utilities services business on a carve-out acquisition. Mr. McLelland has led multiple operational due diligence projects related to multi-national European and global businesses across a range of sectors on behalf of inter alia Platinum Equity, Towerbrook, CVC, Blackstone, A&M Capital Partners, Goldman Sachs Private Equity, Bridgepoint, Montagu Private Equity and Lion Capital. Before A&M, Mr. McLelland was with PricewaterhouseCoopers in London and New York, where he advised private equity clients such as Blackstone, Industri Kapital, Doughty Hanson, Apollo and BC Partners, and corporate clients such as Cadbury plc, Mars Inc, Anglo American plc and McCormick Inc. Mr. McLelland earned a bachelor's degree in history from Exeter University. Subsequent to that, he served as an officer in HM Forces for four years after graduating from RMA Sandhurst. A U.K. national, he is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
