Bio

Aamer Hassan is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Transaction Advisory Group in San Francisco. He specializes in providing due diligence services, mergers and acquisitions support, and broader advice to private equity and corporate clients. Mr. Hassan has worked across technology and services industries, including SaaS, enterprise software and internet technologies, supplemented by transactions within industrial, education and communications. With more than 16 years of professional accounting and advisory experience, Mr. Hassan has advised on more than 200 mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions; worked in the U.K., India and the U.S.; and successfully led several complex cross-border transactions between the U.S., Europe, Asia-Pacific and South America. Mr. Hassan has advised multiple Silicon Valley tech majors along with U.S., U.K., EMEA and Asia-based technology-focused private equity firms on transactions and transaction-related matters. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Hassan spent 16 years with KPMG, where he most recently served as Managing Director in their Silicon Valley office. Having consistently been rated among their best performers, Mr. Hassan has had a successful track record of delivering high quality and time critical engagements covering diligence, IPO and refinancing support. He leverages real-time, detailed transaction analytics to help clients optimize buy-side and sell-side valuations and decisions. Additionally, Mr. Hassan's M&A professional career has included tenures across the U.K., India and the U.S., where he has built an effective and valuable global network of clients, professionals and sector experts. He has a reputation of building and scaling high-performance teams to help private equity firms meet their objectives and navigate challenges across the deal and investment lifecycle. Mr. Hassan earned a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from University of Mumbai, India, and a master's degree in business management from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. He is a licensed chartered accountant in the U.K.
