The Nairobi Women’s Hospital

Nairobi, Kenya
The Nairobi Women’s Hospital (NWH) is the first of its kind in the East and Central African region. It is focused on providing obstetric and gynecological services as well as all other general, medical and surgical procedures for women and their families. Established in 2001, NWH has grown into one of Kenya’s largest hospital chains, expanding from one hospital to three hospital branches and a 24-hour outpatient center. NWH offers free medical and psychosocial support to survivors of domestic and sexual violence through the Gender Violence Recovery Centre (GVRC), a non-charitable trust of NWH. NWH has embarked on a strategic expansion plan to respond to the gaps identified in the provision of healthcare services and the training of healthcare workers in the country.
