Target

Trans-Tasman Resources

Wellington, New Zealand
TTR explores and develops deposits of iron sands off the North Island of New Zealand. The company has exclusive mineral rights to over 6,319 km2 of seabed, which its initial prospecting suggests could contain a large and low cost iron ore resource. TTR is considering dredge mining the iron sands, for further processing in an offshore beneficiation plant. The material would then either be slurried to a capesize vessel for shipment to Asia or shuttled to a local onshore steel mill. Early technical and economic models suggest that the envisaged mining operation would be very low cost and much less capital-intensive than comparable land-based operations. TTR is committed to conducting all its activities in a safe and environmentally sustainable manner and to engaging proactively with local communities and authorities with respect to all relevant economic, environmental and social issues.
