Alaska Communications Acquires Anchorage Telephone Utility

Alaska Communications is a fiber broadband and managed information technology services provider, focused primarily on business and wholesale customers in and out of Alaska. The Company also provides telecommunication services to consumers throughout the state. ACS' facilities-based communications network extends throughout Alaska and connects to the contiguous states via two diverse undersea fiber optic cable systems and usage rights on a third undersea system. ACS' network is among the most expansive in Alaska and forms the foundation of service to customers. Alaska Communications was formed in 1998 and is based in Anchorage, Alaska.
