Spencer Timm retired as the Investor Relations Partner with Morgenthaler Ventures in June 2009 where he focused principally on fundraising and investor relations. Prior to joining Morgenthaler Ventures in 1998, he spent 28 years in the securities industry where he managed the sales training school at E.F. Hutton, and was VP Marketing for the Boston Stock Exchange. Previous to that, Spencer was in the investment management industry, as the head of institutional marketing for State Street Bank (now SSGA), and a founding principal of Franklin Portfolio Associates. Spencer has been, and continues to be, a trustee and advisor to numerous endowments including The Boston Foundation, The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, and Virginia State University. He graduated from The College of William and Mary in 1966. Spencer spent the last 37 years as a volunteer firefighter, and now indulges his second joy, riding his tractor – harvesting his hayfields, and opening new ones.
