Bio

John Coburn has over 40 years of experience in leading, operating, and investing in water-related high-growth companies. John works closely with portfolio companies to scale operations, expand margins and reduce growth-related risks. Prior to XPV, John was President and Chief Operating Officer of ZENON Environmental. He was responsible for growing the company from start-up to over $146M in revenue, with a market capitalization of $700M. Upon leaving the company, he was awarded the Architect of ZENON Award to recognize his efforts in building the company into a world leader in water treatment. John had various leadership, operating and research roles at Environment Canada prior to joining ZENON. John holds a B.Sc. with Honours in Chemistry from the University of Waterloo and is an “Alumni of Honour” from the Faculty of Science. He is a Charted Director, and in honour of his service and commitment to excellence during his tenure at Environment Canada; he was awarded the prestigious Government of Canada Merit Award. John is an avid fisherman (release and catch), gamer and connoisseur of great wines. He loves to travel with his wife Debi and their family, always seeking new adventures and warm weather.
