Bio

Dan Black joined Wicks in June 2003. As a Managing Partner, he is involved in all of Wicks’ investment and management activities and serves on the boards of directors of all of our operating companies. Prior to joining Wicks, Dan was Managing Director and Co-Head of Merchant Banking at BNY Capital Markets, Inc. (a subsidiary of The Bank of New York), where he was responsible for investing the firm’s capital in private equity partnerships, the overall management and strategy of the merchant bank, and relationship management with private equity firms. He was also responsible for originating mergers and acquisitions, mezzanine investments and leveraged finance transactions. Dan was on the investment committee of BNY Partners Funds, a fund-of-funds partnership for high-net-worth individuals to invest in private equity. Dan was previously Senior Vice President and Co-Head of U.S. Corporate Banking, Senior Vice President and Manager of the Los Angeles Corporate Banking Office, and a member of the corporate credit committee. He is a director of the Advent Claymore Group of closed-end mutual funds.
