Michael Hooks Bio

Michael Hooks is the Founder and Managing Partner of Westhook Capital. Prior to founding Westhook, Mr. Hooks was the Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner at Black Canyon Capital, which was a private capital affiliate of Canyon Capital Advisors. Prior to founding Black Canyon, Mr. Hooks was the Co-Head of the Los Angeles Investment Banking Department of Credit Suisse, leading a group of approximately 100 professionals. Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. Hooks was a Managing Director of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Mr. Hooks began his career in the Beverly Hills office of Drexel Burnham Lambert. Mr. Hooks is currently Chairman of the Board of Malibu Boats, Inc (NASDAQ:MBUU), and previously served on the boards of JDC Healthcare Management, TASI Holdings, Virgin America, Logan’s Roadhouse, Saunders & Associates and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology (NYSE:PV). Mr. Hooks received a degree in Economics from Princeton University and a M.B.A. with distinction from The Wharton School of Business.
