Bio

Marshall has primary responsibility for management and performance of the Private Equity funds. From time to time he will hold non-executive directorships in investee companies. Marshall brings significant private equity experience and acumen to Viburnum Funds following a diverse career over the past 26 years and across a wide variety of domestic and international markets. Along with Craig Coleman, Marshall co-founded Viburnum Funds in 2007, following a banking and investment career in which he had invested in, arranged or managed over USD 2 billion in investments for multinationals, or corporate and institutional Investors spanning UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, PRC, India, Korea, Philippines, and Australia. Marshall has worked for numerous high profile investment banks and private equity firms during his career, including ANZ Private Equity, Deutsche Bank, Societe Generale and equity derivatives boutique Credit Agricole Lazard Financial Products (as Deputy Managing Director for Asia). His initial working experience started in the 1991 UK recession working in the UK leveraged and acquisition financing for Dai-lchi Kangyo Bank (now Mizuho) where he developed a taste for contrarian investment philosophies. Outside of portfolio companies, Marshall is a Director of Findex Group and a member of the University of Western Australia Business School Board. Marshall was educated at the University of Western Australia (BCom) and Cornell University (MBA).
