Bio

Michelle is the Chief Compliance Officer and interim General Counsel for Vestar. She began her legal career at Latham & Watkins and has an extensive background in private equity, mergers and acquisitions, securities law and compliance. She has held numerous senior level executive positions throughout her career, including serving as the General Counsel or Acting General Counsel for companies such as Duane Reade Inc. (a regional drug store chain), Barneys Inc. (the luxury department store retailer) and StayWell (a Vestar portfolio company). Michelle has a juris doctorate (magna cum laude) from Tulane Law School and an MBA from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane. She currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for Tulane Law School and as a Co-Director of the school’s Corporate Legal Skills Intersession Program. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Theater Group.
