Manuel joined Valor in 2018 and serves as Principal on the Operations Team. Prior to joining Valor, Manuel was Project Manager and Nuclear Engineer at Nagra, a cooperative of the Swiss energy utilities for the construction of a multi-billion nuclear repository in Switzerland. He also served as Swiss delegate and represented Switzerland in various capacities at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, France and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria. Most recently, he served as Vice Chairman of the Decommissioning Cost Estimations Group of the Nuclear Energy Agency at the OECD. Manuel has been a Visiting Lecturer at ETH Zurich in Switzerland and a Visiting Scientist at the US DOE Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Manuel holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from ETH Zurich, Switzerland and an Honors B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from the University of St Andrews, UK. He also completed his M.B.A at the London Business School and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Manuel is bilingual in Greek and Spanish and conversational in German, Italian, and French.
