Ian MacKenzie Bio

Ian joined Valor in 2024 and serves as Vice President, focusing on Food & Retail-Tech and Sustainability investments, on the Research Team. Prior to joining Valor, Ian spent 23 years at McKinsey & Company where he held various roles across Capabilities & Insights and Expert Consulting. Ian advised global retail, consumer goods, and private equity clients on growth strategy, commercial operations, capability building, mergers and acquisitions, and due diligence. Before his time at McKinsey, Ian spent a year in France as a Fulbright Fellow teaching English language and literature. Ian holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a B.A. in Philosophy and French Literature, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated as a member of Pi Delta Phi.
